South Korean singer-actor Rain has teamed up with Psy for his forthcoming album.

“Psy worked on the album as a producer. He is known for his retro style and electronic dance music (EDM), but this time, he will be working on an R&B style,” he said at a press conference held on December 29.

The 34-year-old, whose real name is Jung Ji Hoon, was in town last week for his ‘The Squall’ concert at Resorts World Sentosa.

Singapore was the last stop of the concert tour, and Rain has performed in 18 cities in Asia, including Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Tokyo, since November 2015.

He is expected to release his new single ‘The Best Present’ on January 15. The first teaser for the track was released on Rain’s official website and social media channels on Thursday.

Besides working hard on the new album, Rain revealed that he will be producing a new boy band by 2018.

After making his debut as a solo artist in 2002, he has starred in a number of popular television series and movies, including Full House, Diamond Lover, and Ninja Assassin. He was mostly recently seen on SBS drama Please Come Back, Mister and will star in the upcoming Chinese series Endless August with f(x) member Victoria Song.

“I really enjoyed working with Victoria [on Endless August] because she is such a lovely and active girl.”
