It has been three months since tvN television series Goblin bowed out from a successful 16-episode run with the highest viewership rating in cable television history, and fans still can’t seem to get enough of Lee Dong Wook.

The 35-year-old melted hearts across Asia with his role as the Grim Reaper in the series and was in town on April 15 for his 'For My Dear' fan meeting at the MasterCard Theatres, Marina Bay Sands.

Over 1,000 fans gathered at Plaza Singapura for a public press conference held hours before the event.

Lee also serenaded fans with ‘My Time Towards You’ – a song that he sang for another tvN series Bubblegum – at the fan meeting, and some lucky fans were chosen to have their wishes granted or re-enact iconic drama scenes with him on stage.

After the Singapore stop, Lee will bring his Asia tour to Hong Kong, Indonesia, Thailand, and Japan.

For those who have missed his activities in Singapore, here are 10 things you may not have known about Lee Dong Wook.

He was happy to see fans at the airport

“A lot fans came to greet me at the airport. I had to go off quickly as there were a lot of people and security guards, and I didn’t want to be a nuisance to other people. I want to apologise for not being able to stay too long at the airport.”

He wants the ability to teleport

“I want the ability to teleport. It is the best way to save time if there is a traffic jam. If I wish to travel from South Korea to Singapore, I could come instantly.”

Every scene in Goblin is memorable to him

“I will remember each and every scene. The show is loved in South Korea as well as in Asia. It is a great drama with a well-written script.”

Lee had a hand in creating the now-iconic kiss scene between Sunny and the Grim Reaper

“Sunny (Yoo In Na) and the Grim Reaper had no happy scenes, so I asked the production team if we could add a scene that was more cheery. If you watch the scene closely, I kissed her first, but she was the one who pulled me in to kiss her for the second time. I was quite sad that you could not see her pulling me in because her hands were covered by my face.

He filmed that kiss scene at 5am

“We filmed that scene at 5am. I was so tired because we pulled an all-nighter [for another scene] and I really wanted to sleep. The scene was an ad lib, so we had a lot of NG scenes. We were smiling and giggling, and it took a long time for us to finish filming that scene.”

There was a little bit of him in every character that he played

“For every character that I played, there were a little bit of similarities to my personality. I cannot name just one character that was most similar to me.”

If Lee could teleport, he would return to Singapore every week

“Singapore makes me feel at home. If I could teleport, then I would come back every week.”

He will be a great dad

“When I become a father, I want to be able to go out and play with my children. However, I am worried that my children will feel uncomfortable when people recognise me or them [on the streets]. I am not exactly sure what will happen. After I have a child, I will let you know.”

He will take on a new project after his Asia tour

“My Asia tour will end in July. After that, I will take on a new project, which may be a film or a television series.”
