If you are planning a trip to Korea, but have yet to decide where to sightsee, why not include places as recommended by K-Pop groups APink and NU'EST in your itinerary?

The two groups were in town today (Oct 25) with actors Sung Dong Il and Lee Chae Young to attend Korea Festival 2013 - Vizit Korea, a three-day extravaganza featuring Korean culture, lifestyle and entertainment, organised by MediaCorp VizPro.

Meeting with the fans and media at the open press conference, held at the Singapore EXPO Hall 5B, APink's Namjoo and NU'EST's Aron recommended Jeju Island and Dongdaemun respectively.

Aron said, “If you're someone who likes shopping, you should visit Dongdaemun. They have a lot of clothes there and it’s not that expensive. You guys should also try out the Korean food we have out there, like kimbap and ddeokkbokki.”

Namjoo also explained she chose Jeju Island for its beautiful scenery and beaches, allowing one to “refresh and heal” there.

When asked who they thought had the best variety skills among their groups, the members of APink chose Bomi, with the latter explaining that her charisma may be because of her honesty and truthfulness.

As for NU'EST, Ren took the crown. Aron said in fluent English, “His personality just comes out when he’s on the show.”

When APink was quizzed if they would like to try out a sexy concept, Eunji spoke on behalf of the group, saying, “We respect singers who have a sexy concept; but at the moment, we love our cute concept and want to keep it.”

Actress Lee Chae Young also let on at the press conference that although she enjoys both modelling and acting, she would like to become a better actress and thus chose acting now.

Here in Singapore for the first time, and with his family, veteran actor Sung Dong Il shared his thoughts on the best and worst part about being on the variety programme Where Are We Going, Dad? with his son Sung Joon.

“The best part is being able to spend time with my son, and the worst part ... I think he's becoming a little spoilt,” he told MeRadio.sg, despite the six-year-old sitting right in front of him with the rest of his family.

At the opening ceremony later, event goers were treated to a vocal performance from Little Angels (Children’s folk ballet of Korea), a Taekwondo demonstration, as well as a preview of what NU’EST showcase will look like, as the good-looking group performed ‘Sleep Talking'.

APink then presented their showcase 'APink Secret Garden in Singapore', charming the fans with their performances. Stay tuned to MeRadio.sg for our gig review on their showcase soon!
